What you heard about me, it is not true,

That person’s trying to get in your head,

Don’t believe the lies that are told to you,

Listen to the truth I tell you instead.

People have called me many hurtful things,

It does not compare to what you have said,

You tell me you believe the lies; it stings,

The hurt from you makes me cry in my bed.

At this rate, our friendship will quickly end.

Your listening to the lies broke my heart,

US Under House-Arrest

Why's everyone in the US uptight?
It seems impossible to feel relaxed,
Like prom is all that matters right now, right?
Our top priority is to get asked.

You have a deadline for your school essay,
You don't have time to talk, that is a LIE!
You have plenty of time during the day,
But MAKING time is something you don't try.

Look at the street corners, they're all empty,
They should all be filled with people talking,
Instead, everyone's glued to their TV,
And no one seems to have heard of walking.

What we think nowadays: why be social?
We could just text our friend on our mobile.

My Life-Saving Addiction

Some people my age give their life to drugs,

Many students have died from alcohol,

I have an addiction to He who loves,

I’m strapped in and ready for the long haul.

I give in to temptation now and then,

There’s no chance I can be completely pure,

Keep in mind that I am still a human,

I promise I’m not blameless, that’s for sure!

That’s when my holy high starts kicking in,

I need this; I must always be sky high,

My holy addiction saves me from sin,

I’m not telling my addiction, “Goodbye!”

If I become sober for a minute,

I might as well say my life is finished.

I Am God's Servant

A trip to a country with poverty,

So many houses are riddled with holes,

I do not know how God plans to change me,

How does God want to alter our frail souls?

Just one day later, I am on my knees,

I am transformed by what I have just seen,

I pray that He won’t let me change back, PLEASE!

Don’t let this trip become another dream.

The last night comes, I don’t know what to think,

While there, I’ve made several amazing friends,

I sit in the dark; my heart starts to sink,

I’m just wishing that this night never ends.

But my last day in the Dominican,

I hear God telling me my work’s not done.

White Noise

From month to month, I feel emotionless,
I know I could feel something at one time,
Happy and even sad feelings are missed,
There used to be a heart inside my rhyme.

From week to week, I never feel a change,
The weird senses that made me uneasy,
But now every day feels the exact same,
I’m engulfed by color, but I can’t see.

When will I have this blindfold pulled away,
I want to feel the pain like all those years,
I won’t keep what makes me human at bay,
Even if it means breaking down in tears.

From day to day I don’t feel anything,
When will the day come that I feel something?

My Savior, SAVE ME!

LORD, these things seem to happen just to me,
Most of what I do these days: cry in bed,
LORD, please uncover my eyes, let me see,
What are your plans for me waiting ahead?

God, all troubles happen for a good cause,
But all I see now is this deep, cold black,
I’ve been stabbed many times, I’m clothed in gauze,
I’ll break in two with one more axe’s hack.

Father, save me from this place; I’m dying,
I feel so abandoned, I need You near,
I always say I’m ok, I’m lying,
The real truth is that I’m filled with fear.

Creator, hold my hand, walk me through this,
My Savior, help me escape this abyss.

Man's Hardest Question

How long will I feel this dark loneliness?
This pain inside that will not go away,

I don’t care about her expensive dress,

I care ‘bout one thing, you know what I’ll say.

Each day without you is another fight,

I fight till I hear that deafening yell,

Then I climb to the very highest height,

I think you know what I’m about to tell.

Whenever I see you, I’m taken back,

Whenever I hear you, my heart races,

Although I love it when we get to yack,

I’d like to get past the early basis.

Asking the question is no easy feat,

“Later you want to get a bite to eat?"

Out Of Control

I don’t know now, I’m on autopilot,

I ride this life, it often really hurts,

I suffer now, this life is so violent,

I’m walking on hot coals, it only burns.

My life takes a turn, I’m feeling so good,

She came into my life, I feel so high,

But then she leaves, just as I knew she would,

She does not even let me say goodbye.

I take control again, I’m in the lead,

But until now, I have been the small pawn,

Pathetic and killed off just like a weed,

It won’t be long until my life is gone.

Now life beings to spin out of control,
Crash landing; falling deep into a hole.

The Problems of High School Love

I see that gorgeous girl walking the hall,

I want to be more than friends, it depends,

What if age causes our friendship to fall?

I hate these high school relationship trends!

At what point do I ask again, click send?

I don’t want to make this friendship awkward,

At least until then, she is a good friend,

If I mess up, don’t let us move backward?

I love talking to her, so beautiful,

They tell me there are more fish in the sea,

And while I know the fish are plentiful,

She is the only fish that I can see.

I know one day that question comes once more,

I hope that day she opens her heart’s door.

I Have Been Saved

At some point or another we were lost,

Thinking that we were made for so much more,

We looked, and even if it had a cost,

We needed something that could touch our core.

The answer came in the form of a man,

Not a celeb; a man like you and me,

I admit that I have become a fan,

You ask why I'm so happy, you will see!

He has brought a glorious gift for all,

The gift is grace, mercy, and awesome love,

I come running at his every call,

I'm talking about my Father above.

He overwhelms me like a coming wave,

Just he alone has the power to save!
