I know where you say you store your treasure,
You’re wealthy; I see the glee on your face,
You say your riches are safe, you are sure,
But trust me; I know a much safer place.
I have seen you with nice cars, girls, and gold,
All these things will slowly become nothing,
You should listen to what you’re told,
If you listen, you are given something.
If you don’t trust what I say, ask others,
They will tell you the same thing as I do,
Go ahead; ask the fathers, kids, mothers,
If they say different, I’ll listen to you.
I’m telling you of the most secure vault,
When you feel like nothing, it’s not my fault.
Many have journeyed the cosmos, in search of what is out there. However, to find what is out there, one must first find themselves.

Are We Friends?
Why should I call you a close friend today,
The day when I have lost all trust in you?
You say we’re close friends, tell me, in what way?
You lied to me, now that you can’t undo.
I wish I could call you a friend, I can’t,
You lied to me; let me drown in sorrow,
You threw me out to sea; I’m back on land,
I think you'll do it again tomorrow.
You want me to talk to you, I will not,
You betrayed my trust, that can’t be undone,
You killed me like a lobster in a pot,
I give up this argument, you have won.
I’m glad what you said to me is a lie,
Now that I know, my heart has wings to fly.
The day when I have lost all trust in you?
You say we’re close friends, tell me, in what way?
You lied to me, now that you can’t undo.
I wish I could call you a friend, I can’t,
You lied to me; let me drown in sorrow,
You threw me out to sea; I’m back on land,

Now that I know, my heart has wings to fly.

What's Missing In This Life?
How many people do we know who’s dead?
How many people we know who’s alive?
“I’m just glad I could help,” the doctor said,
But who really made that person revive?
We know meds help, but that’s not the lone cause,
But what then caused that person to return?
Take a moment to think right now, hit pause,
What made that person’s life make a U-turn?
You make a guess, you tell me, “the doctor,”
I say, “that’s not right” and you guess again,
You say, “because he is a warrior,”
I’m sorry, but you’re wrong again, my friend.
I hand them a Bible and say, “read this,”
“Thanks! I knew something in my life’s amiss.”
How many people we know who’s alive?

Beauty Is Easily Hidden
If a beautiful flower grows alone,
Then when it rains, the ground is not wetter,
For in a day the dirt is dry as bone,
The water’s no longer in a fetter.
The flower’s petals slowly start to wilt,
The petals are tossed around in the storm,
But then they are to be pressed in a quilt,
So when it’s done, its beauty is reborn.
To the eye, a lone flower’s pitiful,
And to the mind it may not be that nice,
But to the heart it can be beautiful,
It’s the beauty that goes without a price.
The next time a flower is seen dying,
Someone, somewhere, is happily crying.

And to the mind it may not be that nice,
But to the heart it can be beautiful,

It's OK to Not Be OK!
At some point in life, we all hit that wall,
That wall that is too wide to walk around,
It cannot be scaled because it's too tall,
The only way to get through is with sound.
At that moment when we hit that blockade,
Sometimes it is a weight we cannot bear,
If you need to reach out, don’t be afraid,
You simply need to trust someone and share.
At some point we all need some help, we search,
One choice of people is your own small group,
Another is a friend from school or church,
They will serve as your own personal troop.
That wall’s like Jericho when it’s all out,
It will all fall down at that final shout.

Money
I check my bank account, nothing is there,
People ask me what I'll do for a job,
But in response I say, "I do not care,"
Early that morn' I had begun to sob.
The city's homeless live without clean clothes,
Walking with bloody feet, they have no shoes,
Their lives have gone downhill, they all have woes,
They tell me they have nothing more to lose.
When I see this I start to die inside,
I must do something for these families,
When I see this I lay my life aside,
So many come up to me, say, "Oh please!"
All these people, they are so very weak,
I only wish to give them strength to speak.
People ask me what I'll do for a job,
But in response I say, "I do not care,"
Early that morn' I had begun to sob.
The city's homeless live without clean clothes,
Walking with bloody feet, they have no shoes,

What Has Happened Here?
Friends, family, they gather all around,
As long as you’re alive, they watch your back,
When you’re sad, they won’t let you hit the ground,
You say you have no friends? You get a *SMACK*!
Please remember, both boys and girls alike,
To not play with the other’s fragile heart,
Think about it; you only get one strike,
Those of you who strike out, why even start?
I now wish to address the main issue:
Where has our sense of community gone?
I don’t mean the kind where I talk to you,
I mean the kind where we all live a song.
And at last when what I’ve said has been done,
Finally, we will be living as one!
As long as you’re alive, they watch your back,
When you’re sad, they won’t let you hit the ground,
You say you have no friends? You get a *SMACK*!
Please remember, both boys and girls alike,
To not play with the other’s fragile heart,
Think about it; you only get one strike,

Decisions
Should we say it, or should we back away,
Should we just go ahead and speak our mind;
Sometimes we wait and we wander astray,
But then that chance we had is left behind.
What if we do go and shout it all out,
But it’s too early and we fall apart?
What if we let it pour like from a spout,
And becomes what we want: a brand new start?
These are the thoughts that pass through all our brains,
Should the girl be asked by the love-struck boy?
If she says no, here comes a heap of pains,
But if yes, then an overwhelming joy.
All these thoughts just go right on rushing by,
And we are back to where we started. Why?!
Should we just go ahead and speak our mind;

And we are back to where we started. Why?!

The Great Love Letter
The most famous love letter ever scrawled,
It has a total of sixty-six books,
When it was finished, everyone is called,
Never to turn back like we're snagged on hooks.
This letter shows love and teaches us, too,
It is from the Father we have above,
The same Father that has made me and you,
He made peace that is shown by the white dove.
No one can ever beat this love letter,
His love cannot be beaten by a man,
Nothing that we can feel can be better,
Everyone on this world sits in His hand.
It says we can't love an object, idol,
The love letter I speak of, the Bible.

Where Do We Go Now?
We walk the path that runs the thing called love,
We never know where it goes till we’re there,
Everything I do, will it ever be enough,
I want to know what you feel, I do care.
We go through life wondering how it ends,
What we do know is the line is not straight,
It twists and turns, it weaves and bends,
We won’t know what life’s for until our fate.
We drive down the road that we call friendship,
We stick together when we do dumb stuff,
There comes a time when we must board that ship,
The one that says making friends isn’t tough.
Now we have the bond we have been sewing,
We won’t stop there; we’ll just keep on going.
